Colston’s Summer Ball 2014

The extended Colston’s family joined together to celebrate at the Colston’s Summer Ball on Saturday 28th June 2014. Over 300 people enjoyed a wonderful evening in a marquee in the lovely setting of the grounds of Colston’s School.  Putting the final touches to the marquee on Saturday morning

Old Colstonian Society president, Martin Tayler, thanked Tracy Mace, Colston’s Foundation Coordinator, and the small committee of enthusiastic and committed members representing the Old Colstonian Society, Colston’s Parents’ Society, the Old Colstonian Rugby Club and Colston’s School for all their hard work in ensuring that the event was a very special occasion. The evening started with a fizz: Mr Tom Richardson ( from the school’s music department) and his group of young musicians put everyone in the party mood at the drinks reception in the school dining hall. The catering from AHM Catering of Staple Hill was top class as was the entertainment provided by the Q Band who started their gig with a Bee Gees tribute session and which, judging by the number of people dancing, was much enjoyed. Martin Tayler made a special mention of the sponsors who had contributed hugely to the committee’s fund raising efforts. As well as thanking the committee, he also thanked the pupils, staff, parents and OCRFC members who had helped on the evening, setting up and clearing up, and ensuring that the evening was a tremendous success.
